MOSCOW -- A booby-trapped vehicle which exploded in Khasavyurt, in the south Russian Republic of Dagestan, left three people dead and wounded seven others, police said Monday. The explosion late Sunday near the telecommunications center of the republic's northwestern city killed a 30-year-old woman, a student and a 13-year-old boy, police said, as quoted by the Interfax news agency. Khasavyurt is near the border with Chechnya, where tens of thousands of Russian troops are stationed. Police said the car bomb had targeted a group of Russian servicemen and policemen who were near the telecommunications centre at the time.
